First Steps.....Planning Permission

Finally managing to get on the London property ladder is a huge 'fist pump' moment.  Maybe you have purchased a flat, but due to your family growing it is now bursting at the seams? Or perhaps you have bought a total wreck of a property with the intention to get going with the renovations straight away? If you are ready to proceed with the process, it can feel like leaping into the unknown.... Your very first step will be to obtain planning permission, and for this you are going to need a set of plans. Engaging an architect to do this for you is the best idea, they will have an understanding of the planning process and will be able to submit plans on your behalf for approval. An architect who is local to the area is your best bet, as they will already have a working relationship with the council. Alternatively there is nothing to stop you from doing the drawings yourself.
